Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

This policy explains how Dividendo handles personal data collected through this website.

  • Controller: Iván Cárdenas
  • Tax or registration number: available on request at ivancardenas@dividendoweb.com
  • Address: Killarney, Ireland
  • Contact for privacy matters: ivancardenas@dividendoweb.com

2. What data we collect

  • Quote request form: your full name, business name, email address, country, the type of website you want, an optional estimated budget, your project description, your language and the date and time of the request.
  • Emails you send us: your email address and whatever you write in the message.
  • WhatsApp messages: if you choose to write to us on WhatsApp, your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and whatever you write or send. The link on this website only opens WhatsApp with a suggested first message: nothing is sent until you press send.
  • AI assistant (chat): the messages you write in the chat and the assistant's replies. We don't ask for your name or email in the chat, and we don't keep a copy of the conversation on our server: it disappears when you close or reload the page. Opening the chat sends nothing: a message only goes out when you write and send it. To limit abuse and cost we keep short-lived message counters: one per visitor, linked to a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not to the address itself, and one for the whole website.
  • Quote calculator: the package and extras you choose are worked out in your own browser. Nothing is sent or stored until you decide to send the quote request form.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time. Our hosting provider records this in server logs so the website can run and stay secure.

Please do not include sensitive information, such as health data or official ID numbers, in the form or in your messages. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers on this website.

3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

  • To reply to your request and prepare a quote: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and steps taken at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To answer your questions in the AI assistant: our legitimate interest in answering visitors' questions about our services, and steps you ask for before a contract (Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
  • To carry out a project if you hire us: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To keep the website secure and working: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To meet legal duties such as accounting and tax rules: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).

We do not make automated decisions or build profiles about you, and we do not send marketing newsletters unless you ask for them. The occasional emails and Instagram messages we send to businesses are explained in section 4.

4. Emails and Instagram messages we send to businesses

Now and then we write to businesses in Ireland that might need a new website. We only use contact details that the business publishes itself, on its own website or in public directories and maps, and we keep a note of where and when we found them. We keep the business name, its email address and phone number, its website address and our notes about that website.

We may also send a business one Instagram direct message about its website, and at most one short follow-up. We only write to the business's own account, never to personal profiles. We keep the account name (@name) with the details listed above and delete it on the same terms. Instagram is run by Meta Platforms Ireland, which handles these messages under its own privacy policy. If you reply “no”, we won't contact you again on any channel, and we keep only your account name on our do-not-contact list.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering our services to businesses (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These emails follow Regulation 13 of the Irish ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011): each one says who is writing and how to stop further emails.

You can object at any time, free of charge, by replying “no” or writing to ivancardenas@dividendoweb.com. We will then stop writing to you and keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so that you are never contacted again. If you don't reply, we delete your details within 6 months.

5. How long we keep it

  • Quote requests and messages (email or WhatsApp) that do not lead to a project: 12 months from our last contact with you.
  • If you become a client: for the length of the project and then for 6 years, as required by Irish tax law.
  • Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider.

6. Who receives your data

We do not sell your data. It may be handled by:

  • Our hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores the website and the requests it receives and acts as a data processor.
  • Other service providers we use to receive or answer messages: the provider of our ivancardenas@dividendoweb.com mailbox.
  • Google (Gemini API), which generates the AI assistant's replies and acts as a data processor under Google's data processing terms. We use the paid Gemini API service, with billing enabled. Under its terms, Google does not use your messages or the replies to improve its products, and it only logs them for a limited period to detect and prevent abuse and to meet legal requirements.
  • WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited, part of Meta), only if you choose to write to us there. It handles your messages under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, only where needed.
  • Public authorities, only when the law requires it.

7. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. When that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Countries involved: the countries where our hosting provider's servers are located.

Messages you write in the AI assistant are processed by Google, which may process them in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses also apply.

If you write to us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp may process your data outside the European Economic Area. Its own privacy policy explains where and with which safeguards.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its use, or send it to you in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time, which does not affect what we did before. To use any of these rights, write to ivancardenas@dividendoweb.com. We reply within the time the law sets, which is one month under the GDPR.

Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights.

9. Complaints

You can complain to the data protection authority in your country. Some examples: the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie), the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos in Spain (aepd.es) and the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom (ico.org.uk).

10. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and storing quote requests in a folder that is not public. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

This website is aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date of the latest version is: 29/10/2026.
